who we are

Museable is a museum technology company focused on helping small museums and cultural heritage organizations put their objects and exhibits online, better connect with their audiences, and unlock the knowledge preserved by their institutions. Originally started by Navigation North, a boutique software development company with twenty years of experience developing systems for educators and students, our team is developing a toolkit of WordPress plugins and themes to ease the complexities of publishing, managing, and sharing digital exhibitions while simultaneously protecting your long-term ownership and control.

what we are doing

The overwhelming majority of tech products designed for museums are geared towards those with the most funding, clout, and visitors. The organizations that would benefit the most from the efficiency and expanded reach that digital publishing offers, cannot afford the custom solutions and rarely have access to the grants that larger institutions use to fund their projects. Having spent decades building these systems and learning what works, we are now working on making those tools and features available to a much broader range of customers, while ensuring a business model that values ethical licensing, local control of data, transparent feature development, and a commitment to long-term stability.
